While I absolutely see this, or any death, as a tragedy, I don’t understand why we in the U.S. think an isolated incident such as this is worse than the 40+ that die EVERY DAY in Darfur?

Today I have seen groundhogs, deer, a fox, a chipmunk, a falcon, no more chipmunk, wild cats, a snake, and something I think was a racoon.

So, Spring arrived earlier this week with great weather. It was only slightly above normal at 70-some degrees and sunny. Kids were out playing, the cherry blossoms were in full bloom, and baseball season officially started.
Today we awoke to snow on the ground and a hard freeze overnight.
